On a larger scale, the evolution of Canberra to meet its potential as a larger city is well underway through a range of urban renewal projects in the CBD and the town centres.

In addition to this, over the coming years, an unprecedented number of residential blocks in established areas will become available for purchase from the ACT Government from across 56 suburbs in Tuggeranong, Weston Creek, Woden, Belconnen, the Inner North and the Inner South. These are the remediated blocks from the Loose Fill Asbestos Eradication Scheme.

Blocks that have been remediated and determined by experts to be free of loose fill asbestos have been removed from a register of affected houses and will either be offered back to the previous owner to purchase through a First Right of Refusal process or placed on the open market for sale by auction by the LDA.
