Land Rent

The ACT Government's Affordable Housing Action Plan, announced in April 2007, includes 63 initiatives to provide more affordable housing and rental accommodation for Canberrans. The Land Rent Scheme is one of those initiatives, and is designed to reduce entry costs and mortgage payments for homeowners. The ACT Land Rent Scheme commenced on 1 July 2008.

As of 18 February 2013 a $10,000 land rent security payment is required (reduced to $2,000 if you are eligible for Discounted Land Rent). For more information view the Frequently Asked Questions.
