Freedom of Information (FOI) and Privacy

Requests for access to documents under the ACT Freedom of Information Act 1989

The LDA will assist persons to access documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.

Applicants should note that the Freedom of Information Act creates a right of access to existing documents not ‘information’.

All requests should clearly identify the documents sought e.g. by subject matter and/or by an identifiable timeframe.

Privacy statement

The LDA adheres to the Federal Privacy Commissioner’s Guidelines for Federal and ACT Government Websites.

Personal information provided to the LDA is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 Cth.  Information (including personal information) cannot be disclosed to any third party unless authorised by law or with the consent of the person involved. Personal information is information relating to an individual that can be used to identify or to reasonably ascertain a person’s identity.

This privacy statement applies to all users who access the LDA website.
